The UNSC Judge Advocate General's Corps, abbreviated JAG, is a department in the UNSC High Command concerned with legal matters, serves in court martials, issues rules and regulation protocols, and investigates legal issues that warrants possible military action. On February 12th, 2553, JAG tried Corporal Derek Ierome for crimes of desertion during the war. Although the death penalty is considered, Ierome is instead given dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay, and confinement of five to ten years in the Varuna Orbital Prison Complex.
