• February 3, 2525: contact with Harvest is lost after the orbital station Tiara attempts to make contact with a Covenant vessel.
• February 11, 2525: first formal contact between the Covenant and humans on Harvest at the Harvest Botanical Gardens. Communications go awry and the Human-Covenant War begins. The Covenant forces, led by Jiralhanae Chieftain Maccabeus, retreat to Rapid Conversion in high orbit over Harvest.
• February 23, 2525: the local militia evacuates the colonists on Harvest, though the casualties are high. Tartarus kills Maccabeus in fair combat and takes control of Covenant forces over Harvest.
• March 9, 2525: Spartan-II candidates undergo augmentations. Thirty-Three Spartans officially pass, thirty subjects die, and twelve are wounded.
• March 12, 2525: Eric-026 is transferred to Scylla Recovery Station for long-term recovery from Spartan-II augmentations.
• September 14, 2525: Spartan-II soldiers infiltrate a United Rebel Front base near the Eridanus System's asteroid field and capture Colonel Robert Watts.
• October 7, 2525: Battlegroup 4 arrives at Harvest and engages the Covenant. The Hercules returns badly damaged and with a message of genocide from the Covenant.
• November 1, 2525: the UNSC is put on full alert about the alien aggressors.
• November 27, 2525: the Battle of Chi Ceti IV begins. The Covenant vessel Unrelenting attacks Chi Ceti IV and the UNSC Commonwealth. Spartan-II soldiers board the Covenant ship and detonate bombs from the inside resulting in the ship's destruction and the death of Samuel-034.
• 2525: Prophets Truth, Mercy, and Regret ascend into power as the trio of hierarchs in the Covenant and declare genocide on humanity.
• 2525: with the threat of new war, Operation: TREBUCHET is temporarily suspended but not terminated.
